PC for the Marine Environment

It’s the middle of winter and a boater’s thoughts turn to longer days, warmer weather, and being on the water. Whether you’re the captain of a sail boat or a power boat, winter is the time to prepare for the upcoming season. Good instrumentation is at the top of every boater’s list. SeaPC, a new product from Chetco Digital, provides all the capabilities of a personal computer, and can be programmed with a wide range of gauges customized for your boat. Outfitted with a touch screen monitor, SeaPC is easy to use.

What’s in the box? A fanless Marine PC kit that includes an Intel D525MWV Mini-ITX Motherboard with Intel Atom D525 Dual-core CPU, 2GB of DDR3 memory, Actisense-based NMEA 2000 compatible interface, and a 160W Automotive Power Supply. The entire system is housed within a rugged and compact SeaPC Marine case. Leave your laptop at home, safe from the hazards of a marine environment.

Cool Features

SeaPC doesn’t require a monitor. Using Wi-Fi technology, it can interface with other devices including Smart phones like the Android, Blackberry, iPhone and iPad. This same technology allows remote access to monitor your vessel's status from any internet connection. Not ready to purchase a PC for your boat? The smart phone application is available as a stand alone product, to allow you to monitor your boat where ever it is slipped, check the weather, and monitor gauges.
